Earth Day Events in Chicagoland


There are many ways to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day in Chicagoland. Here are some of the events planned for this April.


April 17th, 10am - 430pm, Quinlan Lifescience Bldg, Loyola University

To bring together the north lake shore communities of Andersonville, Edgewater, Lincoln Square, Ravenswood, Rogers Park, and Uptown to host an event that will provide informative and fun programming, guest speakers and displays in the interest of educating the community about environmental problems and solutions while highlighting local businesses, organizations and environmental initiatives.

April 17 - 18, 10am - 4pm, Irish American Heritage Center
This unique family Earth Day event features lots of great activities and education for adults and children alike! Yummy organic and locally sourced food, music and dance, and over 100 vendors are just a few of the attractions.

April 17 - 18, 10am - 5pm, Lincoln Park Zoo
Want to make your life a little greener? Want your family to learn more about recycling, energy efficiency and organic foods? Join ChicaGO Green at Lincoln Park Zoo to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Earth Day. This free event will feature fun activities for kids and information for everyone about carbon footprints and solar power. See a fashion show featuring recycled garments.

April 24th, 7am - 10am, Humboldt Park
This first of its kind event will highlight the best Chicago of the future set against the historic boulevards of Logan Square and Humboldt Park. Beginning with a family friendly 5k run/walk, the race will culminate at the Humboldt Park boat house with a free Green Living Expo including great music, family entertainment, delicious food, exciting vendors and shopping, environmental education and fun for the whole family.

April 24th, 10am - 1pm Oark Park Public Works
(after party at Green Home Experts)
Earth Fest is a community-wide celebration to honor Earth Day! Public Works will host a family-friendly event with snacks, games, and local green vendors sharing their wares.

April 24th, 6pm, 825 S. Oak Park Ave.
Raise a Glass to Mother Earth at the Avenue Ale House, starting at 6 p.m. Free drawing tickets available at participating businesses. Bring tickets to the Ale House to win eco-friendly prizes!
