HELP KIDS GO TO SCHOOL!

School is a normal part of what we do here in the United States. We have many programs to help kids get to school, stay in school, and learn the essentials of reading, writing, and mathematics, skills as adults we take for granted but are very important.

But in Africa attending school is not the norm. And one simple barrier is SHOES. Kids need shoes for many things, but in Africa they need shoes to attend school and many kids just don't have access to shoes.

Soles for Jesus, a charity that started in 2009, collects shoes and brings them to various villages throughout Africa to help kids stay safe, healthy, and to attend school.

I am raising $2,900.00 to help get shoes on the feet of children in Mozambique - an upcoming trip. You can help me by sending a check to Soles for Jesus and putting 'Alix - MZ 2013' in the memo.
IF I CAN GET 116 PEOPLE TO DONATE $25.00 I WILL REACH MY GOAL!
Soles for Jesus, Inc.
(on memo line: Alix-MZ 2012)

Thank you to those who already donated - so far I've collected $200.00!
UPDATE: As of 01/21/13 I've collected $1,920.00! Just $980.00 to go!

Over the next month we are also collecting shoes at our school, St. Edward Elementary School. If you are in Chicago and would like to drop off a pair or two, there is a box in the church. If you have any questions, please email me at agnoske@gmail.com.

Last year we collected over 400 pairs of shoes and it was such an amazing thing knowing how many lives we would touch, how many kids we would help, all by the simple act of donating something we didn't need anymore.

Please consider sharing this information with your friends and family. Any donations are very much appreciated!
