I was chatting with some folks over on Greenwala.com about consumerism, quality, and our intense desire to buy a lot of stuff. So that made me thing of The Story of Stuff, which has been around for a while now. I thought it was worth linking to since it really gets to the heart of what we are doing here at Recycle Me.
We are kind of a throw back if you will, to the good old days before consumerism, before WWII, when people grew crops without pesticides and synthetic fertilizers; when people sold and purchased high quality goods (that means goods that lasted); when people manufactured products in the USA.
If you haven't seen it already, please watch The Story of Stuff.

The link between Mind and Social / Environmental-Issues.
The fast-paced, consumerist lifestyle of Industrial Society is causing exponential rise in psychological problems besides destroying the environment. All issues are interlinked. Our Minds cannot be peaceful when attention-spans are down to nanoseconds, microseconds and milliseconds. Our Minds cannot be peaceful if we destroy Nature [Animals, Trees, Air, Water and Land].
Chief Seattle of the Indian Tribe had warned the destroyers of ecosystems way back in 1854 :
Only after the last tree has been cut down,
Only after the last river has been poisoned,
Only after the last fish has been caught,
Only then will you realize that you cannot eat money.
